In one line : known for its mussels and brunches.
Review : The Moulerie is an Outremont institution and is well known for its wide variety of mussels. It's also known for its weekend brunches and that is when I visited this restaurant. The brunch's menu is what you usually find at other brunches, a mix of breakfast and lunch food, but you can also select from their menu of mussels prepared a dozen different ways (they are all around $15.00 a plate). I chose the classic eggs benedictine ($7.95) which are poached eggs with sliced ham sitting on top of english muffins and covered with hollandaise sauce. The eggs were served with "pommes de terre rissolées" (aka mini french fries) and an excellent green salad (not that cheap iceberg lettuce, some good boston lettuce with a great dressing). It also comes with a regular coffee but, having turned down the offer for coffee, the waiter did not bring replacement water which is customary (that's a 3.0 said the russian judge). I'll have to go back to try their mussels to give a definite review. By the way, there's a great terrasse in front (it's the place to be seen you know) and the decor inside is "soigné".
