In one line : more for the decor and entertainment than the food.
Review : They advertise this restaurants as the only mexican restaurant in town who hand-roll their own tortilla. I am not a tortilla expert so I really don't see a difference with the other places. They start out by serving a small basktet of corn tortilla chips with salsa (like they do at most other tex-mex or mexican places). The salsa was served hot and it tasted a little like chicken broth for some reason, it was more like a soup actually. It was a strange start. <br>I ordered the stuffed eggplant with cheese as an entree ($5.95). The eggplant with chopped onions was good but it was lost under a very thick layer of melted cheese and sour cream (there is such a thing as too much cheese). It was a lunch onto itself. The main dish was an enchilada mexicana ($10.95). There are too enchiladas with chicken, rice and black beans. The best thing was the rice, most mexican or tex-mex places serve some kind of tomato rice that tastes like Play-Doh, this rice was good. The enchilidas themselves were also good (the little hint of lime gave it a nice touch) but you can find enchiladas that are as good if not better at other places for much less. The service was very friendly and the decor is warm and inviting (and the plates were a nice change from the usual white plates at most restaurants) but the prices are at least $2.00 above average for each dish on the menu. But it can be worth it on Friday and Saturday nights when the entertainment includes a live mariachi band.
