St.Patrick Basilica
Description | Neighbourhood : Downtown Type : Year of construction : 1847 Style : Best : Yes
It may look like the basilica is turning its back to downtown and René-Levesque blvd., and it is, but it was at the time facing its irish congregation who lived west of what is now known as old Montreal (that irish neighbourhood was known as Griffintown). The St-Patrick basilica has a great interior of carved wood paneling and painted ceilings, it is definitively worth visiting.
