Horse-drawn carriages
Description | Neighbourhood : Old Montreal Type : Guided tours Season : All year Best : NA
You can ride through old Montreal in horse-drawn carriages. The starting points are on de la Commune street (in front of the old port) or in front of the Notre-Dame basilica (Place d'Armes). It's somewhat expensive (around $50 for a 2 hour ride) and the caleche drivers are not all experienced (badly dressed and not well informed). According to a recent newspaper article, some of the comments given by the drivers during the visits are either superficial or simply untrue... so beware.
