Built in the middle of the XIXth century from 1845 to 1852, the Bonsecours market place was often the victim of fires : in 1846, in 1847 and in 1848. The dome was affected by the flames also, but the construction of the building continued untill 1852. This same dome was also burnt in 1978 and was rebuilt with fireproofed materials
