CDs and records

The least expensive place, on average, and with a lot of choice is Archambault in the Quartier latin (500 Ste-Catherine east corner of Berri street, tel.: (514) 849-6201, Berri-UQAM metro station). HMV (Ste-Catherine street west corner of Peel, Peel metro station) has better regular prices. Hibiscus (Ste-Catherine street west corner of Jeanne-Mance, Place-des-Arts metro station) has a good selection of word beat CDs. For used records, there are a couple of stores on Mont-Royal ave. east of the Mont-Royal metro station (L'Échange, Fox Troc or Le Tuyau Musical are good examples). Don't go to Mars Records on Ste-Catherine street west, their prices are too high! You can check out the The Vinyl Tourist Visits Montreal where you can find a complete list of reviews of local record (new and used) stores.
