Should I change my money before coming to Montreal?

It would seem that the best rates are given here in Montreal, as opposed to changing your money before coming here. But you should get some canadian dollars before getting here just in case. For more information on exchange rates, check out the "Bank, ATMs, exchange rate and money" subsection of the "What you must know" section.

Another way to get the best rates is to use your credit card or even your ATM card. Most ATM machines in Montreal are connected to international networks so you can take out money from your account directly. The exchange rate is adjusted directly from the current rates by your credit card company or bank.

To get more information on canadian money, you should visit the Bank of Canada's web site . There's a very handy currency converter . You will also find all the information you would ever need on canadian money, from its history to the monerary policy.
