En une phrase : excellent $5 daily special.
Critique : The first thing you notice is the $5 daily special (Mondays to Thursdays all day and Fridays before 17:00, it's $5.75 after 17:00). The special includes a soup (chicken or beets aka borscht), a main course from a choice of a dozen dishes and tea or coffee. The borscht was the best I ever tasted (altough I am not a borscht expert...), excellent tender morsels of beets in a nice tick broth. I chose the meat combo as a main dish (there's also a vegetarian combo), it includes a great potato pancake (it's not meat... but it was crispy on the outside and not dry at all on the inside), a meat pierogy (dumpling), a half-sausage and very good bigos (sauerkraut with different meats) with a side-bowl of sour cream. The serving was not large (did I mention it's only $5.00!) but it makes for a good lunch or a "light" dinner (light as in 'not too filling' not as in 'low in calories'). The only downside is the total lack of colors in the main dish, everything was beige (as it's suppose to be, it's polish cooking after all) but it was served on a white plate, maybe a plate with some color or some shredded carrots or red sweet peppers). I also had a piece of cheesecake ($3.00) which tasted store-bought which doesn't mean it was bad, just ordinary. There's a streetside terrasse (Prince-Arthur is a pedestrian street so the cars won't bother you) so you can watch the "colorful" local crowd walk by (it's in the latin district you know) and the service is brisk (volume, volume, volume) and either friendly or minimal depending on who serves you.
