Redpath Museum

Description
Neighbourhood : Downtown
Type : Sciences

The Redpath museum is a small museum dedicated to natural history (ie. fossils, dinosaures and the likes). The main hall is on the second floor and looks like one of those old british museum you see in movies with an oval room and a third floor balcony. It presents mostly small fossils and minerals, there's a mid-size dinosaur skeleton in the middle of the room and a couple of stuffed bird on the third floor balcony. But unfortunaly, they haven't updated the displays since the 60's (not that they would have to, since they are rocks and fossils after all) but most of them are bland and look more like highschool science fair displays. But if you are in the neighbourhood, or a student of minerology (it's also a study hall) or just for the building itself, then it's worth it... and it's free anyway. By the way, there are interesting small temporary exhibitions at the entrance of the main hall.
