This is one of the most impressive building in old Montreal. The Grand Trunk building was built as the headquarter of the Grank Trunk Railway company, which was later part of the merger with Canadian National Railway. The materials used are gray granit, beige limestone and sandstone. The lobby is particularly interesting with its marble staircase and cast iron handrails with two gryphons at the bottom of the stairs (there are also two gryphons sculpted in the north towers with a dome was suppose to be added). It was restored in 1988 and is now used by the Quebec government.
