There's not much to see on De la Commune street, it's mainly used to cross to the old port from Place Jacques-Cartier. But there are some interesting stores like Excalibor, it's also a place you can rent rollerblades and bicycles and, east of Place Jacques-Cartier, there are fruit and vegetable stands (and other local products) at the Bonsecour market.
It's also on de la Commune street that you can find the Musée d'archéologie et d'histoire de Montréal-Pointe-à-Callière (Montreal history and archeology museum).
