En une phrase : the best BBQ chicken in town?
Critique : Boucan comes from a south-american word meaning smoked meat, and boucanier was the name of the pirates that were hunting wild cattle in the west indies and smoked that meat as the natives did... (the english word "buccaneer" probably came from it). Le Poulet Boucanier now only delivers.
A good BBQ chicken place has to have three things : good chicken (of course), good fries and good sauce. Le Poulet Boucanier has all three! Their chicken is juicy and very tasty (I don't know exactly what they put on it but I'm sure there's garlic somewhere) and has a very pleasant smokey taste that the meat absorbed. The homemade fries were excellent (not those dry stiff fries) and the sauce was also great. It came with a piece of pita bread and a shredded carrot salad with a good dressing. To top it off it's pretty cheap, you can get a half chicked (with all the trimmings) for less than $10.00 and a quarter chicken (again with all the trimmings) for around $6.00. You can also order from the Au Tarot menu (try the spinach brik - $3.45, it's a thin crispy crepe stuffed with scambled eggs and, in this case, spinach).
