Montreal Planetarium
Description | Neighbourhood : Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Type : Sciences
A very interesting visit for anyone interested in space, planets and stars. There's an exhibition of meteorites and a projection of the beginning of the universe.

An interesting anecdote, this building use to be heated with the steam produced by the Dow brewery on Notre-Dame street (south-west of the Planetarium). But the very popular Dow breweries were forced to closed down in the 40's when heavy Dow drinkers started dying. As it turns out, they were using cobalt to speed up the fermentation to keep up with demand....

P.S. Do not look for it on the e-guide's downtown map, it's just south of it.
