En une phrase : good and inexpensive.
Critique : Las Palmas is more like a neighbourhood diner than an actual restaurant, it doesn't have any tables (just two long counters with stools) and the menu is a large poster on the wall (the large color photos are helpful though). There are about 5 or 6 choices on the menu (including empanadas), I selected the chuleta plate ($7.85). It's a breaded pork chop not unlike what you would get with "Shake and Bake".. altough it was a little tastier. It came with a side order of excellent rice and plantain as well as a very ordinary green salad. For "dessert", I tried a large (more tall than large actually) glass of very good passion fruit juice ($2.55). They have a large selection of tropical fruit juices to chose from (I think they use frozen fruits as the base and then put it in a blender... so it's not the bottled kind but it's not exactly fresh fruits either but it's not really important, the important thing is that it's good). All in all, it's a good inexpensive meal, nothing extraordinary. By the way, I couldn't wash my hands in the bathroom because there was no soap which wasn't that bad since there were no paper towels either.
