In one line : best bagels in town.
Review : Also known as "St-Viateur Bagel". Montreal-style bagels are first soaked in sugared water and then cooked in wood ovens (if they are not cooked in wood ovens, they are no good). They are thinner then New York style bagels but they are better. St-Viateur makes some of the best (if not the best) bagels in town. They are firm and not mushy and just a little sweet. But don't plan on buying some to bring home if you are visiting Montreal because they harden up really fast (after a day they are already hard and after two, they are hockey pucks). Like many fresh products, they are better eaten fresh. St-Viateur also has a large selection of spreads (cream cheese, hummos, tzatziki, etc), smoked salmon and Snapple!.
