Review : If you don't know what fondues are, here's a short description : you choose your meat from the menu and they bring a pot (AKA fondue set) to your table and set it over a small burner that is already on the table. The pot is filled with either hot oil or some sort of broth (the oil is not recommended since it tends to "spit" all over the place when it is boiling). You then take one of those long forks and pick up the meat wih it and dunk it into the hot liquid in the pot (you are basically cooking it yourself). When the meat is cooked, you dip it into one of the sauces that come with the meal and eat. That's it. Of course, it is not recommended to go to a fondue place if you are alone.
Fondumentale is one of the best place in Montreal for fondue especially for its choice of meat (venaison like caribou, wild boar, etc) and fondues (chinese, japanese, bourgignone, various cheeses and chocolates, etc). The decor and service are also great.
