It's the main street in qc and it's also a pedestrian street (that means it is closed to traffic). The most interesting thing about this street are its chinese-style arches. There are also a lot of restaurants and gift shops as well as other stores (drug stores, etc). There is not much to see on de la Gauchetière east of St-Laurent or west of the Palais des Congrès but there's plenty to see between those two streets.
